e-comp Electrically Driven Compressor
The new generation of vehicles with hybrid drivelines typically features internal combustion engines which are too small to allow a conventional compressor to be flanged to them.
In addition some applications require the vehicle to drive only in electrical mode for some hundreds of meters. As the combustion engine is shut off during these periods a conventional flanged compressor would be unable to deliver air.
Additionally high air consumption (e.g. in city bus applications) needs high air delivery in short time, to achieve acceptable duty cycles.
The WABCO e-Comp is designed to provide an efficient and environmentally friendly solution for these vehicles with hybrid drivelines.
